  3. In case of any suspicious situation when it seemed to you that your PIN code or any other personal information was disclosed to other persons, please contact the Bank to block the card and replace it.
  4. Try your best not to disclose your card information (card number, expiry date, last three numbers on the signature strip) via open communication channels, especially by e-mails, whereas it can be subjected by scammers. If you need to disclose personal information to pay bills (on phone, via Internet, fax for hotel reservation and tour booking), try to use the services of high reputable companies and use the most secured way to disclose such information (e.g.: websites properly secured by up-to-date IT for data security protection).
  5. Phishing is one type of frauds. In the guise of financial institutions, attackers, online merchants and other companies send out e-mails containing links to websites that imitate real companies, and ask card holders to disclose confidential information (passwords, card related information, PIN-codes) to “update” their customer database. Never respond to such inquires, as this information can be used for fraudulent transactions.
  6. Ask everyone to perform any card transaction only at your presence. Try to keep an eye on your card even if you need to pay. Please remember that be means of special tools your card related information can be copied and used for making a fake card.
  7. Before you sign a check, make sure that the amount and currency of the transaction are printed correctly.
  8. Do not sign a check with a blank field for a transaction amount.
  9. Do not follow any recommendation, advice or help of strangers when using your payment card. Following this rule is especially important when using ATMs.
  10. Once a month review your card account transactions and a list of all purchases made by you during this month. If you notice that your card account was debited for any purchases you did not make, then immediately contact the Bank to block temporarily your card until further clarification.
  11. Keep your confirmation documents and checks at least until you review your card account transactions.
  12. Do not keep your card in proximity to high electromagnetic radiation (radio, cell phone, computer monitor, video equipment, microwave, etc.). Be careful at shop cash desks where they use magnetic coding of goods. All this may damage the magnetic stripe of your card.
  13. Keep your card as carefully as your cash.

II. Safety Measures when using cards at ATMs

  1. Try to use the ATMs which are well known to you.
  2. Look around before you approach an ATM. In case if you see suspicious persons nearby, find another ATM.
  3. Before using an ATM examine its exterior. If you find any suspicious things, objects, wires or traces of design changes, find another ATM.
  4. Do not use physical force to insert the card into an ATM machine.
  5. If there is a queue behind you at ATM, make sure no one can see your PIN code.
  6. While you type your PIN code, stand in front of ATM as close as possible, enter your PIN code with your middle finger (so that your palm covers ATM buttons and makes much harder for any potential scammer to see which buttons you press). If possible, cover a keyboard with your second hand, so no one can see it. Enter your PIN-code only after the ATM requests you to do so.
  7. Be particularly careful if someone offers his/her help to you at the ATM machine, even if your card is detained by ATM or it is been something wrong with your transaction. Do not enter your PIN code at the presence such “helper”. Do not allow anyone to distract your attention as your card or cash be taken away out of ATM. If such situation would have occurred, please immediately contact the Bank to have your card temporarily blocked until the investigation is completed.
  8. If it seems to you that ATM does not work properly, please press the "Cancel” button, withdraw your card out of ATM, and then use another ATM. In case of having problems after you have entered a requested amount, do not leave ATM unless you are sure that the transaction is completed or rejected, or if you are requested to choose another transaction.
  9. In case of your card detention by ATM, make sure that it is actually confiscated, and that your transaction is completed (i.e. the ATM continues to serve other customers or is ready for a new transaction). Otherwise, after you leave the ATM, it might return your card or give the money you have requested for, so that the third parties could take them.
  10. Upon withdrawing cash put your card and money into your wallet, bag, etc. and only after that you can leave the ATM.
  11. Please remember your PIN code. If you write down your PIN code, then it is always possible that someone will find out it. Please bear in mind that the customer is always responsible for any transactions authorized by his/her PIN code.
  12. Be careful when entering your PIN code. If you enter the wrong PIN code more than 2 times consecutively, your card will be detained by ATM.
